Tyze
Tyze is a new online service that makes it easy to reach out to friends, family, neighbours and caregivers. It helps you to build a network of care – make plans and share stories – and make a real-world difference in the quality of life of someone you love.
We are getting a presentation from the people who developed Tyze on Monday and will know more about it then. They will be describing a “micro-site” to us – a set of Tyze sites for all the folks served by Spectrum Society for Community Living, allowing us to work collaboratively with the friends and family members of the people we support.
Here is how the Tyze website describes microsites:
Microsites for Organizations
If your organization is interested in purchasing a complete microsite solution that will allow you to provide personal networks to all the people in your care, please let us know as part of your request below. We will then set up a free trial network for you, and also contact you to guide you through the process and tell you more about how our microsites work. Note that our microsite solutions for organizations include comprehensive network animator training, Community of Practice sites, and ongoing support.
It sounds a little like facebook – but with less connections to the wild world of the internet – and a very specific set of applications… I wonder if they have the ability to “poke” your friends and family members?
That sounds like a great resource.
