BC People First Conference and AGM 2010

Our friends at B.C. People First have been working hard to put a conference and AGM together for June 17 and 18.    I’ll be there, volunteering, with a cause I am passionate about.   Please contact me ( or any of the folks below if y0u want more information.

In the eveningThe FREEDOM TOUR Film

This National Film Board documentary tells the story of People First of Canada mem­bers, fighting for the rights of all people who are labelled with an intellectual disability to live in the community, not in institutions. Come to this public screening and listen to our stories.

The cost for the two day conference is $50.00**.

This cost includes entry into all of the workshops and the AGM, coffee, tea, a light breakfast and lunch both days.

**BCACL has some funds to help people attend the conference. For information, call BCACL at 604-777-9100.

The hotel has wheelchair-accessible guest rooms and is steps away from the Metro­town skytrain station.

The Hilton also has an outdoor swimming pool and restaurant.

Booking a Room

A rate of $135.00 plus tax for a single or double room has been reserved

for conference participants.

To get this rate, you must say “BC People First Society when you book your room.

I am not part of People First.

Should I still attend?


People First is open to anyone who has been labelled.

About Membership

Individual and group memberships are available for $1per person. They can be purchased at the conference.
