sneak peak at the new ABC book!

We hope you are all having a great summer.   Everyone here at Santa’s workshop… oh, wait, that’s a different newsletter!

I am in Chicago taking the most brilliant workshop from www.loosetooth.com – so much fun!   Hello from the windy city.   Aside from trying to get some holidays in there, everyone here is busy getting ready for some really wonderful upcoming events.   We’ve wrapped up our webinar series for TASH and are on to the next thing.   Our anthology is coming together and we’re excited to just over the weekend figure out the inclusion of a wonderful essay by Dr William Gaventa on congregational care and the role of support people – so glad to be able to include this.   Susan Stanfield is working away on her book, which we’re so excited about, a re-thinking of how to introduce folks to our field and to those we care about.   Susan Powell has been meeting with Jim to go over the last bits of the lovely ABC book of photos and texts that she has supported a group of self advocates to create, and then model for the photos.

“Save the date” for the second and even more fabulous Spectrum Book Launch on October 13th at Bonsor Community Centre, just beside Metrotown in Burnaby.    Almost all of the authors will be there to meet and sign their books.

David Pitonyak will also be there to help out and will be giving a couple of presentations earlier that week – I’ll write up the details a.s.a.p.!
