We are very proud of Spectrum Consulting’s own Sheenagh Morrison who is the recipient for the CLBC WOW! Award in the South Island region.

WOW! means Widening Our World. Each year, CLBC gives WOW! Awards to people who have made important contributions to helping people with developmental disabilities connect in more ways with their communities.

On Monday January 20, Sheenagh was presented her award in a room filled to the brim with co-workers, friends, supporters and family members.  As Sheenagh says – “a day to remember forever”

I was thinking about Sheenagh’s leadership in the province this past year- her work interviewing researchers in our field and her advocacy to have those interviews published.  Her  passionate ambassadorship for the Diversability campaign and her ongoing employment at Hillside Thrifty’s are all things about Sheenagh that exude the qualities that make her a great leader.

So when she got up to accept her award, I was expecting she might talk about her accomplishments and say thank you for the award.

In clear Sheenagh style, she did not do this- she used her time to once again lead by example and instead – gave a short speech promoting the Change the Word campaign.
