Of Dogs and Friends

July 26, 2009

dogwaggingtail[1]Bobbi Hoadley sends this fun idea:

“Make or buy treats for your neighbour’s dogs.  Or keep a dog treat in your pocket.  Just be sure to ask the owner’s permission before you give one to a dog.”

Dog owners love talking about their dogs.  Talking about pets is a great way to meet people.  It’s easy to talk about, and not too personal.  Check out your local dog park – even if you don’t have a dog, you’ll find people who are happy to talk to you about theirs.

Or offer to walk a neighbour’s dog.  Last summer my son and I walked a friend’s dog a few times, and I was amazed how many people came up and talked to us.
